Everyone else in the universe (it seems) is at BlogHer this week, and it’s even here in my wonderful city of Chicago, and I’m not.
I had more than my fair share of chances, and even nearly got a ticket today, but the stars did not align, or actually the $$$ did not align, and so here I sit. Plumbing disasters, a wicked summer cold, and just utter nonsense conspired to keep me at home this weekend.
But I’m not bitter. I’m jealous as hell of Jen, Ree, and Phyllis, but I’m okay. I will live vicariously. I will save my pennies and shekels for next year. I will enjoy this weekend with my kids, and hopefully some time with my husband, and I will work to improve my writing, my blog, and my marketability, so that next year when BlogHer rolls around, I won’t be going “because it’ll be fun” but because it is a “business event” and that will be justifiable no matter what decides to blow up in my house at the worst possible opportunity.
So there!
